Durham College women’s soccer to host a playoff game on Tuesday Night

A spot at the women’s soccer provincial championship will be on the line on Tuesday night as the Central East Region Champion Durham Lords host Conestoga College in an OCAA quarter-final match-up at Vaso’s Field. Kick-off for the big match is at 5 p.m.

The Lords have qualified for the OCAA Championship in 12 straight seasons, and look to make it 13 with a win on Tuesday night. Conestoga enters the quarter final match-up after finishing in second place in the West Region with a 4-4-3 record. This marks the Condors first postseason berth in over eight years.

2009 has been a record breaking season for the women’ soccer program enroute to winning the regional title with a 9-1-1 record. Durham scored 59 goals this season, the most of any team in OCAA history, breaking the record of the 2003 OCAA champion Durham Lords squad. Oshawa native Katie Watts set a record of her own as became the Durham College all-time leading scorer as she has netted 38 goals over her two year career with the Lords.
